RIP, My (Un) Faithful Friend

RIP. Rest. In. Pieces.

I remember the day you arrived in your pretty cardboard box.
I surfed the net with abandon.
I started a new WIP.
I thought you were a soulmate.

But that feeling...

Didn't
Even
Last
Long

because of some

Xtremely
Problematic
Scenarios

Like your motherboard crashing (3 mos),
Your random qwertys popping off (9 mos),
Your latest Technicolor screen pixel tricks (36 mos).
A 1970 RCA would be proud to try.

I'll miss your shiny silver keys,
Your cherry red cover,
Your (can't think of anything else).
Yet, I feel a sense of loss.

Waiting in a new laptop, folks...so I'll be working on an eight (yes, 8) year-old Sony VAIO with limited internet access. Therefore, content here will be less interactive than usual. I apologize for the interruption in quality service.

  1. Oh, Carolyn, how frustrating. I hope your new computer arrives quickly. I am amazed how dependent I am on mine (also a Dell laptop, also having very frustrating screen problems at the moment).

  5. We use an iMac from 2001 at home, but granted, I'm on the computer all day at work, so it's mostly the kids.

Sorry to hear of your loss!

  6. My sister's Dell laptop just had the power cord die. So I guess Dells aren't so great. I use a Toshiba netbook and laptop.

  7. I hope the new laptop arrives soon!

(We must have some kind of PC fluke; I've read several posts about problems with Dell computers, but ours has worked fine. :P)

  10. Thanks for the condolences! New bytes are scheduled to arrive on 7/27. (Wish they told me that before I ordered it.) I hope that's only an estimate. I might not survive all the crashing around here if it takes that long. :)
