Clickity click....I remember something cool from The Alchemyst. Clickity click....some neat, but ordinary sounding Celtic stuff... save it for later. Clickity click...that looks interesting - devil's snare; originated in Assyria...I like the Middle Eastern connection. Evil spirits get trapped in the coil...hmm...maybe if I use a verse to make the swirl it would be even more interesting. Clickity click...oh, you're SUPPOSED to use verses...Clickity click...latin verses...bingo! CATALYST IN TRAINING.
So if you haven't already guessed, a version of the devil's snare is important in my book. :)
Love it.
ReplyDeleteOoooooh intriguing!!! I hope the talisman helps your heroine! D'jinns are sneaky!!!
ReplyDeleteTake care x
Ack! hopefully this isn't here twice--I hit something before word verification and disappeared... The only place I've seen 'Devil's Snare' is in the Potter books, so i didn't realize there was real stuff! (I should--rowling is a heck of a researcher)--I like your planned use!
ReplyDeleteYup! Rowling refers to Devil’s snare (the plant) which is actually the real brugmansia…or so I’ve heard. This devil’s snare is even older, Assyrian, and I first saw it in The Alchemyst series from Michael Scott. He only referred to it briefly there, but you know a writerly mind catches cool stuff like that!
ReplyDeletei think it could also hypnotize me
